Plumeria is the national flower of laos and a symbol of luck. It is widely used in landscapes especially in the arab gulf. Moringa oleifera, drumstick tree, a drought resistant tree, native to tropical and subtropical regions of south asia. Moringa is cultivated for its young seed pods and leaves used as vegetables and for traditional herbal medicines. The tree is deciduous and can reach 10-12m height with 50cm trunk diameter. It has fragrant flowers and specimen are used in gardens where they make a statement.

Dasylirion longissimum, the mexican grass tree, is a species of flowering plant native to the Chihuahuan Desert in northeastern Mexico. D. longissimum is slow growing, drought tolerant, and is used in xeriscape landscaping projects. It is hardy and tolerates temp down to -9deg.
