We’re pleased to announce that George Arbid will be our first Spring 2025 guest speaker on Thursday, February 26 at 12:15 PM in the Smart Room.
A specialist in modern architecture in Lebanon and the Arab world, Dr. Arbid has authored and co-edited major works, including Architecture from the Arab World (1914–2014) presented at the Venice Biennale of Architecture and Designing Modernity: Architecture in the Arab World 1945–1973. He is also co-founder and director of the Arab Center for Architecture and curated an exhibition for the Sharjah Architecture Triennial in 2023.
In this lecture, he will discuss modern and contemporary architecture in the Arab world and the ideas shaping the region’s built environment. Students, faculty, and leadership are warmly invited to attend.
