Perched on the lush hills overlooking the Victoria Reservoir, this contemporary Sri Lankan residence is designed as a serene retreat embedded within nature.

Expansive floor-to-ceiling glazing opens the interiors toward panoramic views of the surrounding forest and reservoir, while timber screening and deep overhangs provide shade, privacy, and climatic comfort. The open-plan living spaces extend toward an infinity-edge pool that visually merges with the distant horizon, strengthening the connection between architecture and nature.

Which is further reinforced by responding to the steep terrain through a series of clean linear volumes elevated above stone-clad retaining walls, creating a seamless relationship between the built form and the landscape.

Natural materials such as stone, timber, and exposed structural elements establish a warm tropical aesthetic that complements the surrounding environment. Designed to maximize light, airflow, and openness, the residence balances modern simplicity with a calm and intimate atmosphere.

Through thoughtful spatial planning and environmentally responsive design, the house captures the essence of contemporary tropical living, offering a peaceful sanctuary that celebrates the dramatic beauty of Sri Lanka’s hillside landscape.

Located in Nittambuwa, Zephyr House is a contemporary two-storey residence designed to embody calmness, simplicity, and tropical living. Spanning approximately 2,800 square feet, the home combines modern architectural forms with warm natural materials to create a tranquil living environment.
The design emphasizes natural light, ventilation, and seamless indoor-outdoor connectivity, responding sensitively to the climate of Vavuniya. Clean lines, open spaces, and landscaped elements enhance the sense of serenity throughout the residence, while the restrained material palette introduces warmth and elegance.
Inspired by contemporary Sri Lankan tropical architecture, Zephyr House offers a peaceful retreat that balances functionality, comfort, and timeless design within its natural setting.

Located in the quiet countryside of Veyangoda, the Furniture Factory is envisioned as a contemporary industrial facility that balances efficiency, functionality, and environmental sensitivity. Designed as a three-storey manufacturing complex with a floor area of approximately 82,300 square feet, the project reflects a modern approach to industrial architecture while responding to the natural character of its surroundings.

The facility accommodates a comprehensive furniture production process, including assembly lines, fabrication areas, storage facilities, and supporting administrative functions. Spatial planning prioritizes operational flow, ensuring seamless movement between production zones while maintaining safe and organized working environments. The architectural language emphasizes clean geometric forms, durable materials, and expansive openings that maximize daylight pe*******on and natural ventilation throughout the building.

Set against the lush coconut plantation dotted landscape of Veyangoda, the design integrates the surrounding greenery into the industrial environment, softening the scale of the structure and creating a more human-centered workplace. Large landscaped buffers and open transitional spaces establish a connection between the built form and nature, contributing to employee well-being while enhancing the visual identity of the facility.

The factory represents a progressive approach combining modern manufacturing requirements with thoughtful architectural design. By integrating efficient production systems with environmentally responsive planning, the project creates a productive and sustainable industrial environment that supports innovation, craftsmanship, and long-term operational growth.

Perched along the elevated edge of the Victoria Reservoir in Kandy’s lush highlands, Villa 46 is conceived as a restrained yet monumental architectural presence. Rather than imposing on its surroundings, it reads as an extension of the terrain—an outcropping of concrete and stone embedded within a dramatic, ecologically rich landscape.

The villa commands uninterrupted views of still waters, forested hills, and distant ridgelines, while local wildlife—elephants by the shoreline and deer at dawn and dusk—becomes part of the lived experience. Its minimalist brutalist language is expressed through raw materiality, geometric clarity, and a sculptural mass that evokes both sanctuary and observatory.

Monolithic concrete planes are carefully proportioned and softened by integrated vegetation, allowing the building to frame rather than enclose space. The open-plan layout dissolves interior–exterior boundaries, with double-height fenestrations spanning the perimeter to create a continuous dialogue with the landscape. These apertures function as immersive devices, offering a 360-degree panorama while shifting light animates interior surfaces throughout the day.

Internally, the design remains deliberately restrained—minimal finishes, honest textures, and uninterrupted flow ensure that architecture does not compete with nature but heightens awareness of it. Villa 46 ultimately operates as a lens: a space where architecture recedes, and the surrounding environment becomes the primary experience.
