As a Structural & Material Engineers, we always emphasize that reviewing the Mill Certificate is not a routine step — it is a critical responsibility that directly impacts structural safety, compliance, and overall project quality.
From our experience, every engineer involved in design, procurement, or QA/QC should carefully verify the following key checkpoints:

1. Product Description
Ensure the material is clearly identified as IPE Structural Steel Beam.

2. Standard & Grade
Verify compliance with standards such as EN 10025-2 / S355J2.

3. Product Details
Check section size, length, quantity, and weight, and ensure they match the BOQ.

4. Chemical Composition
Review elements such as C, Mn, Si, P, and S to confirm weldability and material behavior.

5. Delivery Condition
(As Rolled / Normalized)
This directly affects structural performance.

6. Testing & Standards
Confirm required inspections such as ultrasonic testing and dimensional checks.

7. Marking & Heat Number
Must match the markings on the actual steel to ensure full traceability.

8. Certification & Approval
A signed and stamped certificate confirming compliance with applicable standards.
