TRANSITION HYDRIQUE - MARRAKECH
As part of the « Urban Technical Networks » courses led by Professor Issam Sobhy, a field trip to the wastewater treatment plant in Marrakech was organized for the relevant students on December 18, 2024. This immersive experience allows future architects to deepen their understanding of wastewater treatment, a fundamental issue for sustainable water management in Marrakech and Morocco.
These initiatives illustrate the importance of a responsible approach to land use planning, urbanism, and architecture in the face of growing challenges related to water scarcity. Despite its water resources, Morocco is committed to various programs aimed at rationalizing water use, thereby ensuring a sustainable supply. Practices such as wastewater reuse are essential for addressing these challenges and promoting resilient and sustainable urban development. By integrating these principles into their education, students are preparing to become key players in the transformation of the Moroccan urban environment.
