MYTH vs FACT
Myth: Building a double-storey house is only for rich people.
Fact: Not always.
Many people assume that if you want a two-storey home, you need an unlimited budget. The truth is, the right design depends on your land, your needs, and your long-term plans.
If you have a small plot, building upwards can free up valuable outdoor space for parking, a garden, a children's play area, or future extensions.
In some cases, a well-planned double-storey home can make better use of your land than trying to fit everything on one level.
Of course, a double-storey house has its own structural and construction requirements. It isn't automatically cheaper or more expensive than a single-storey house. Every project should be evaluated based on the site, budget, and the family's lifestyle.
That's why the best first step isn't choosing the number of floors—it's getting professional advice before you start building.
At Andrea Modern Housing Solutions Malawi, we believe every successful home starts with good planning, not assumptions.
