The Chiesa di Sant'Ignazio di Loyola in Rome, commonly known as the Church of Sant'Ignazio, has an extensive history dating back to the 17th century. Construction began in 1626 under the patronage of Pope Gregory XV, and the church was consecrated in 1722.

Designed by architect Filippo Raguzzini, its distinctive Baroque style features an impressive dome and a majestic interior adorned with frescoes, marble, and stucco work. Notably, the church is dedicated to Saint Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Jesuit order. The frescoes, particularly those by Andrea Pozzo, are renowned for their optical illusions, creating a sense of architectural grandeur that defies the actual physical space. Sant'Ignazio is a testament to Baroque artistry and religious devotion in the heart of Rome.
