These are some important legal documents you should look out for whenever you are embarking on purchase of land and landed property:
✓ deed of conveyance or deed of assignment : it's a legal document that transfers ownership of land from the seller to the buyer and it also proves that you are the owner

✓ Survey plan: this shows the location and size also letting you know the four coordinates of a particular plot that has been assigned to you.

✓ Allocation of letter: If you're buying a property from real estate firm, they have to give you allocation letter to a specific plot that is assigned to you.

✓ Certificate of occupancy also known as C of O: This is a very important document you should look out for when buying a land this document is issued by the government and also proves that the land is allocated to you and recognised.
