From the fall of 2021 onwards, Amare will become an integral part of the cultural heart of The Hague and will house the famous Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT), Residentie Orkest, Koninklijk Conservatorium - Royal Conservatoire and Zuiderstrandtheater. Designed in collaboration with JCAU and NL Architects for clients Gemeente Den Haag and Bouwcombinatie Cadanz.

We are super excited to present our ✨ winning design ✨ for the new community centre in Zwartewaal! The new community centre will host a primary school, the community centre, a large flexible sports hall, as well as several sports facilities. The multifunctional building will form the beating heart of the community – a place where people can connect and spend quality time together.

The design for the community centre is inspired by the rich fishing past of the village, and is characterised by an expansive corrugated roof that spans the various buildings and binds all users together. The light, mottled bricks, alternated with dark purple-brown shades and colored glass areas, are laid out in different vertical patterns.

We have designed the new performing arts centre Amare - Den Haag as a vibrant, multifunctional cultural building: a building that consists of a multitude of different spaces in which the different identities of the four renowned users - Residentie Orkest, Koninklijk Conservatorium - Royal Conservatoire, Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT) and Zuiderstrandtheater - co-exist. The iconic facade holds this multitude of spaces together and gives the different areas and the four main users a common identity, as well as allowing for a free layout. The typology is based on an arrangement of the venues next to each other, surrounded by a ring of music studios and classrooms. The ground floor and the first floor are a continuation of the public urban space.

We are delighted to share new photographs of the Christelijk Lyceum Veenendaal! On the exact location where the school opened its doors more than fifty years ago, a beautiful, future-proof and sustainable building has been completed. A spacious central atrium contains a multifunctional and innovative learning landscape, allowing for a wide variety of formal and informal usages.

We design architecture that connects. In our design for the new performing arts centre Amare - Den Haag, public space and shared space are synonymous with social space. Amare is designed as a social incubator – an inviting, multifunctional, lively cultural space with a strong social agenda that binds the area together: a place where the diversity of users ensures synergy and adds color to the entire Spuiplein and the city of The Hague.

De Concertzaal in Amare wordt een beauty. De groene stoelen zijn inmiddels geplaatst. In de klassieke opstelling kunnen hier 1500 mensen zitten, zowel voor het podium als rondom en op de balkons. De zaal is multifunctioneel en ook geschikt voor popconcerten.

Wij kunnen niet wachten om je in Amare welkom te heten! Tot dan delen we hier af en toe een voorproefje.

New publication in ArchitectuurNL on our interior design for a monumental farmhouse in Hoogkarspel!

The farmhouse was built in 1891 and has been used as a residence since the mid-seventies. Our architectural intervention consists of removing all later additions - structures that did not belong to the original layout of the farm - resulting in the uncovering of the impressive, characteristic square construction of the farmhouse. In order to use the vast space under the roof efficiently, new rooms in the form of huts and plateaus have been added to the branches of the main supporting structure.
