Eco Dye Workshops – Summer Sessions in Rotterdam

Join me this August at my Eco Dye Workshop at the beautiful Cultuurwerkplaats in Rotterdam.
We'll be working in the roofed dye kitchen connected to the wild garden, exploring the rich colors nature offers.

Learn how to eco dye our own textiles and create ecoprints and textures using botanical elements, leaves, and flowers, and experience the magic of plant-based dyes. We steam the botanical elements and plant pigments into the fabric. You will be surprised by the results :)

No experience needed – just curiosity and creativity!
All materials are provided
Location: Cultuurwerkplaats, Rotterdam
Date: 30 August: Ecoprinting 13:00 - 16:30

New workshops on the calendar!
I am happy to share my love for natural colours and patterns with you 🌿

Join me on 30 June at the Cultuurwerkplaats Rotterdam for a workshop in natural dyeing and creating stunning patterns. On 7 July we ecoprint with leaves and flowers during a relaxed workshop in the garden atelier.

Captures of my recent private masterclass I gave to an enthousiast artist 🌼

We were laying the focus on extracting colour palettes from plants, barks, and foodwaste.

She was stunned by the possibilities of broadening the palette by using natural modifiers in an afterbath.

The artist will dye regularly in my atelier from now on.

This constantly amazes me!

Understanding how diverse mordants interact with plant dyes can open up a world of creative possibilities 🌼

Look at the colour range of these samples!

They have been all in the same common madder + cutch dye bath, yet mordanted with different materials.

Creating patterns with natural dyes not only produces beautiful textiles but also fosters a deeper connection with nature ~

I printed the fabric with mordant ink, and then it went into a dye bath with annatto seeds 🌼

I love these melon and peach shades !

On 29 June, I teach a workshop about natural dyeing & patterns, and on 9 June, my workshop 'natural dyeing with plants and foodwaste' will take place.

We will steam leaves and flowers into fabric and create beautiful compositions and background colours just with nature. 🍃
