Clean white cabinetry, darker textured tiles and subtle contrast through the hardware come together to give this kitchen a much more refined feel.

The full-height joinery helps the space feel taller and more streamlined, while the darker splashback adds depth without making the room feel heavy.

Swipe for the before.

Damaged or ageing kitchen doors tend to show their age in obvious ways.
Delaminating edges, swollen panels, chipped corners, doors that no longer hang straight, and an aesthetic from a previous decade.

In many cases, the cabinet structure behind them is still solid. It’s the surfaces and hardware that have worn out.

Replacing doors and drawer fronts can completely reset the look of the kitchen. Clean lines return, alignment improves and the space feels finished again.

Consistent reveals and straight lines don’t happen by accident. They come down to accurate fitting, stable materials and quality hardware that holds up over time.

If your kitchen feels tired but the layout still works, updating the doors is often the most effective place to start.

It’s everything working together.

The right approach usually comes down to one question — 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗼𝘂𝘁, 𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵?

Refacing makes sense when the layout already works.
If your storage is generally functional, appliances are in the right place, and the cabinet structure is solid, the issue is likely surface-level. In that case, replacing doors, panels and often the benchtop can completely refresh the space without rebuilding it.

It’s a practical option when you want a strong visual upgrade with less disruption.

A full renovation is the better choice when the kitchen doesn’t function properly.
If you’re running out of storage, struggling with workflow, or needing to move appliances, those are layout problems. Refacing won’t fix them.

Renovation allows you to rethink how the space works, not just how it looks.

In simple terms:
If it works but looks tired → reface
If it doesn’t work → renovate

If you’re unsure, we can assess the space and help you choose the approach that actually solves the problem.

Want a laundry upgrade as well as a new kitchen?

If you’re already renovating, it often makes sense to tackle both at the same time. One project, one timeline, and a consistent finish across both spaces.

If your kitchen constantly frustrates you, there’s usually a practical reason.

Maybe the bin is too far from the prep area. Maybe the dishwasher blocks access to drawers when it’s open. Maybe there’s no landing space next to the fridge, so groceries end up on the island.

Small layout decisions like these affect how the kitchen feels every day.

Targeted adjustments such as relocating key drawers, adding task lighting where you prep, or reconfiguring storage around how you actually cook can remove those daily irritations without a full rebuild.

A kitchen shouldn’t work against you. Most frustrations come down to function, and function can be fixed.

When a kitchen is designed properly, it becomes more than a place to cook. It’s where coffee gets stretched into an hour, where people gather without planning to, and where everyday routines feel easier.

Strong layout, generous workspace and finishes that hold attention all make a difference. This is what happens when function and atmosphere meet.

Laminate is practical, cost-effective, and significantly improved from what many people remember. Modern laminates come in convincing stone-look and matte finishes, are lightweight, and are straightforward to maintain. For households that want durability without stretching the budget, it can be a very sensible choice.

Engineered stone offers a different feel and finish. It’s heavier, denser, and often reads more seamless, particularly in larger kitchens or high-use spaces. The weight and edge profile can give a benchtop more presence, and veining detail tends to look more continuous across wider spans.

The real difference often comes down to how the kitchen is used.

If the space sees heavy prep, entertaining, and daily wear, engineered stone may feel more substantial long term. If the priority is a clean update, balanced budget, and practical durability, laminate can perform extremely well.

Neither option is universally “better”. The right choice depends on the scale of the kitchen, the desired finish, and how hard the surface will be worked day-to-day.

From start to finish.

Each stage plays a role, from stripping back what’s not working to rebuilding it properly.

The end result is only as good as the steps in between.
