We were thrilled to have the opportunity to help with the Greymouth High School front garden project.

There are many reasons for us to get called out for a garden tidy up, whether it be for appearance, ease of maintenance or safety.
It was all of the above for this well established garden full of native grasses between the front entrance and one of the towns most heavily utilised pedestrian crossings.

Firstly: The garden approaching the pedestrian crossing needed some minimalizing and some height reduction to allow clear visibility for approaching vehicles & pedestrians, especially when there are young children or wheelchairs involved.

Secondly: The flax grass surrounding the front fence were beginning to smother the front entrance sign and really crowd the rest of the Nikau palms.
This required some selective removal and thinning out.

As a parent it is great for the piece of mind to know that friends and fam will be as visible & safe as possible around such a high traffic zone.

Lastly to all the t***s and waves throughout the day, Thank you we see you and we hear you. 🌴 ☀️

Safe to say there is no shortage of mowing jobs lately with the classic spring conditions consisting of showers followed by sunny humid days.

When we are not tackling that rapid lawn growth having a bit of range in the day to day work load has certainly been refreshing.

Hedges, guttering repairs, green house roofing replacements.

All hands on deck with Christmas / New Year's fast approaching!🎄☀️

A little extra care was required for this flax removal.

Phormium tenax aka Flax is a perennial plant that reaches around 2 meters tall with smooth, leathery, sword-shaped leaves from which arises a much taller flowering shoot with dramatic yellow or red flowers.

There is certainly a time and a place for flax as it can act as a great wind breaker especially in exposed coastal areas however being so well established in this raised garden retaining wall it was no longer the time or place....time to give it the boot.

1. The removal of moss, grime and algae from those exterior surfaces.
