Here's a bit about how I work here at SuhrCraft Joinery.

It all starts with a chat about your project and how you'd like it to turn out. We can talk through the details, and I can then work out an estimated price range and timeframe. This typically takes a couple of days, though it may take longer for more complex projects.

If you're happy with the estimate, I'll put together a quote that includes:

- A set price for the project
- Detailed CAD drawings.
- Options to make adjustments and changes to the design.
- A clear description of the finished product
- An updated approximate timeframe for the project.

Estimates are free, however depending on the scope of the job, there may be a cost involved in producing the quote. This fee covers my time and effort to prepare detailed plans and pricing. and I'll let you know upfront in the estimate itself if there will be a cost for the quote.

Keep in mind that the prices in the quote may change if adjustments are made to the design. I'll always discuss any potential changes with you and provide an updated final quote before proceeding.

Once you've accepted the quote, a deposit secures your spot in my schedule. I work on a first-come, first-served basis, so the sooner the deposit's made, the sooner I can get you added to the schedule.

Your project is handcrafted in my home workshop, where I take pride in attention to detail and delivering top quality results. While I handle the majority of the build process myself, certain tasks such as edgebanding, may be outsourced to trusted professionals to ensure a quality product.

When your project is finished, we'll arrange for pickup, delivery, or installation. Depending on the scope of the job, I might bring in a trusted subcontractor to help with the install, so we can get everything done in one go.

Here's another past project I'd like to share. A custom one man camper unit, built to fit into the back of a Land Rover. This client found me thanks to a referral from a friend and old workmate.

It features a slide out kitchenette, a pullout integrated toilet, storage drawers upfront, and a fold up section to extend the sleeping platform. Everything you need for a few nights camping adventure.

It is attached to the Land Rover using the existing mounting points in the vehicle. The toilet is secured on a fix-a-potty bracket, with a fold down drawer front for allowing removal of the holding tank.

I love seeing my work used and enjoyed. It's great to see the Land Rover set up and ready for some awesome adventures.

Looking back on a game changing moment for SuhrCraft Joinery. Completing a project for the awesome team at Topspin Pickleball NZ was the big break I needed to kickstart my business. Working with them was an absolute blast, and it opened so many opportunities for SuhrCraft Joinery. It started with a reception desk, and quickly snowballed into a whole range of custom pieces for this fantastic gym.

I got to create:

I’m Mitchell Suhr, owner and craftsman at SuhrCraft Joinery. With 11 years of professional experience in the industry, and many more as a hobbyist, I’ve had the privilege of refining my craft working with some of Hamilton's biggest furniture and kitchen joinery businesses.

I’m a qualified furniture maker with a passion for woodwork. There’s nothing quite like bringing a design to life, from concept to completion. At SuhrCraft Joinery, I’m dedicated to crafting unique, high-quality projects that exceed your expectations.

As a one man operation, I work closely with clients to bring their vision to life. I provide detailed CAD drawings in the design process to ensure we’re on the same page every step of the way.
