Regular maintenance of the nursery irrigation system is critical and it starts with the energy source.
The water pump that draws the nursery water is run by solar. The panels require cleaning 1-2 times a year. On the right is before cleaning, and the left is after. It’s easy to see how a film like this could reduce the panels’ efficiency.

One of my lovely customers was kind enough to share this photo.

The start of his landscaping, he was looking for native grasses that didn’t grow too tall, weren’t clumpy in appearance, possibly giving a wavy look. He opted for Carex comans green (NZ hair sedge), and that’s exactly what they’ll do for him as they establish.

Lower down as a species that plays a little bigger he planted Apodasmia similis (Oioi).

Back into production mode today 🌱

Clianthus puniceus rosea (Kakabeak) finding their place in the shade house. This shrub has been a popular addition to my plant list.

Easily recognised by the distinctive clusters of red parrot beak shaped flowers, adding a dramatic pop of colour to your garden.
