🌿 **WE WANT TO GIVE SOMETHING BACK — AND WE WANT OUR COMMUNITY TO HELP SHAPE IT** 🌿
As The High Leaf Rangers continues to grow, we want to make sure some of that growth goes back into the Southland communities that have supported us.
We are currently considering creating a new community funding programme, with up to a possible amount of up to $10,000 in funding available to support Southland children, schools, teams, clubs or community groups.
But rather than sitting in an office and deciding where that support should go, we want to give the community the opportunity to help shape the programme from the beginning.
We are especially interested in the smaller schools, community sports teams, children’s groups, clubs and organisations that are often overlooked when sponsorship and funding opportunities become available.
Maybe it is:
🏫 A small rural school needing equipment or support for a project
🏉 A junior sports team struggling with uniforms, transport or competition fees
🎨 A children’s art, music, dance or cultural group
🌱 A school or community environmental project
🏕️ A youth group creating opportunities for local children
❤️ Or something completely different that deserves more support and recognition
THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO HELP US BUILD & SHAPE OUR FUNDING PROGRAM!
We have also been discussing whether, instead of simply selecting a few groups to receive funding,
Maybe We could create something entirely NEW!
One possible idea is the **Southern Schools Talent Quest** — an annual competition where primary schools could enter junior and senior solo and group acts, with meaningful funding awarded back to the schools represented by the winning acts.
The aim would be to create an opportunity where children from both small and large schools could perform, represent their communities and compete for funding on a fair and equal stage.
But that is only one idea, and we want to hear yours.
We decided we don't want to pick for our communities we want our communities to pick for us
**Who or what do you believe The High Leaf Rangers should support?**
Should we:
✅ Provide direct funding to several local groups?
✅ Support one major community project each year?
✅ Create a new annual event such as the Southern Schools Talent Quest?
✅ Support schools, junior sports teams or children’s organisations that often miss out?
✅ Or create something completely different?
Please comment below and tell us who or what you believe deserves support, what they do and why you think the funding would make a genuine difference.
You are also welcome to message our page privately if you would prefer not to make your suggestion publicly.
**********PLEASE NOTE*************
This is currently only in the **early planning and community consultation stage**.
No funding will be available during **2026**, and applications are not currently open. Our goal is to develop the programme properly during the remainder of this year, with a proposed opening date of ** Early2027 **.
This post is not a public voting competition. The number of comments, tags or reactions a suggestion receives will not automatically determine who receives future support.
The final programme structure, eligibility area, application process, selection criteria and funding amounts are still being developed.
Please also avoid sharing private or identifying information about children in the comments.
We want to create something that is fair, sustainable and capable of making a real difference — not only for the biggest or most visible organisations, but for the people doing good things in our communities who may not normally get noticed.
**Let’s build something worthwhile together.**
Follow The High Leaf Rangers for updates as we work towards the proposed early 2027 launch.
