Iโ€™ve seen so many instances of this style of flax maintenance in the last week or so.

Itโ€™s not quite the right approach to keeping a flax bush tidy.

Iโ€™m not a flax expert but from experience, having a flax knife handy and cutting away the damaged and old leaves from the base of the plant, continuing until you are happy with the size is what I would recommend ๐Ÿ™‚

A newly planted garden can be underwhelming after dreaming of a fully formed concept for months. Give it a year and things will have grown considerably, doubling in size if not tripling for very vigorous types. Year two brings the young garden stage where many plants are at their pristine best without intervention. Year 3 and beyond it comes into its own with maturity. Enjoy it in all its stages ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒธ Check back in a year to see this new design Iโ€™ve just planted out in Amberley (for a really lovely couple who deserve to enjoy a little haven of their own) expand and grow into itself! A wee few before pics at the end.

Iโ€™ve had a few update photos from a job from last year. ๐Ÿ™‚โ™ฅ๏ธfirst few pictures are a reminder of when the garden was just a baby. Last few are with a seasons growth. A year or two and the wall will be covering in green :)
