Hello everyone.

Well I've been cake decorating-free for three months now and I hate to say it, but I MISS IT. Saw this new idea and thought I might give it a go as it doesn't entail too much kneading which is what was hurting my thumb joints.

Below is a picture of my first ever effort of a cake bouquet but I am dying to try more. Sorry the picture is so small but I don't know how to enlarge it on Facebook. If you want a better picture, look at my website 'www.fundecorating.net' as I have popped this picture on there as well.

The 'roses' can be any colour or can have a theme to them for kid's parties. A normal sized arrangement like the picture, has 24-26 small cupcakes and would cost around $60 delivered in the greater Wellington region. They come in a glass vase which can be returned for a refund if desired. They would make a beautiful gift for someone who 'has everything.'

Anyway, I am just throwing the idea out there to see if anyone is interested or knows someone who might be interested. I will be making some more bouquets after the school holidays and will post the pictures when they are done.

I am also open to the idea of making and decorating cupcakes, just not big cakes anymore.

Merry Christmas to all my customers, who I now consider friends. With regret I am announcing that from the end of this year I am hanging my apron up and turning off my oven. I have been decorating for five and a half years and have loved 'almost' every minute. Thank you to everyone who has ordered cakes off me in the past and I wish you all joy in the future. If you are looking for a cake to be made, I recommend Cupcake Sweeties in Gracefield. They make beautiful cakes and are very reasonably priced compared to others. I can't vouch for the taste of their cakes as I have never eaten one, but can vouch for their looks. All the best - Evelyn Sharma

The cake was supplied by one of this lady's daughters. The other daughter is putting on the party. Ethne is at an age where we don't need the number on the cake, and she loves shoes, so that seemed the obvious decoration for this cake.

Here is another version of the jungle cake I made just last week, only this time the customer wanted the middle 'giraffe' tier to be in blues instead of orange and brown. I was a bit worried at first but think the finished product looks rather nice.

I have done Lily's birthday cake now for three years and it's wonderful to see her growing up from a 1-year-old to a now 3-year-old with her own likes and dislikes. This year she was specific in what sort of cake she wanted - pink - so the top tier of this cake is strawberry flavour. I love the toadstools, and the rabbits, and the little fairy Lily, and the flowers, and the rainbow. Yes, I loved everything about this cake.
