Introducing Martin! 📢

Martin joined us in October last year, bringing 15 years in the construction industry with him. He spent 11 years specialising in gib fixing and plastering, and more recently working with micro cement and lime plaster. Martin’s work is incredibly precise and detailed.

Somehow he can be two steps ahead of us on what’s happening on site, while making us all laugh at the same time.

Introducing Phia, BHP’s first Apprentice 🙌

If you’ve met Phia on one of our jobs you’ll know her infectious smile and enthusiasm to get stuck in!

Phia approached us looking for an apprentice opportunity in August 2025, and has been a part of the team ever since. We’d never trained an apprentice before and we’re really grateful that she encouraged us to take that step!

As an apprentice her role on the team is to do all the jobs none of us want to do. Jokes. She’s honing her skills foundational to a high quality paint finish; prep!

You know it’s busy when all you can manage is one post on socials every couple of weeks! There have been so many epic projects we’ve been working on lately to share with you but in the meantime here is a quick camera roll update:

1. Colour drenching with Ultimate interior Matt in Perplex
2. Rachele and I and treats from the best clients .eatery
3. Sam and Martin and home made treats from also the best clients A+J
4. More colour happening this week! This is a master bedroom feature wall in Himalayan Salt
5. Routine 6-month checkup for a client out in Pakiri. Sometimes you just can’t beat a classic scoria shed
6. Some refurbished wooden joinery on a historical shearing shed in Pakiri
7. WIP of wooden joinery prep
8. Some epic prep on a heritage door in central matakana done by
9&10. More wooden joinery prep on a full recognition. These units were absolutely riddled with rot. We reputtyed ALL the putty. If you know, you know.
11. An absolutely beautiful finish on our new build project up in Pakiri. This was in the classic Cool Colour in Flaxpod.

It definitely is silly season!!!!
