Hot today😊
Just a tip. We make small batchs of Pesto in the nutra bullet but it's a pain to blitz it as the leaves stick to the sides. Found an easy way to blend it fast😊 Just add a couple of small ice blocks to it .Makes life easier 😊

Weather forecast is for loads of rain!
Looked at the garlic that looks even sadder and desided that the only way to have garlic this year was to harvest the tiny bulbs,peel and process them.
Wash,dry and process with a slug of olive oil and a Tsp of salt.
The oil and salt keep it softer in the freezer.
Have always done this with the little bulbs but never a whole crop!!
Still waste not want not!!

Few days of wet weather!
Sure made the plants grow,weeds as well😊
How's everyones garlic? Ours is sadly a crop fail. Was so hopeful but despite spraying with organic fungicide,then when rust became apparent cider vinegar and watering only from the bottom 4days of rain and it's a failed crop this year.
Oh well can't win em all 😞

Rainy Sunday afternoon so thought I'd jump on here and say hi.
Hope you all are taking advantage of the warm weather and planting out those tender veg.Dont forget to plant the stakes first so you don't disturb the roots.Our gardens and pots are flourishing .You can plant in any nook and cranny so utilize those pots😊
It's exciting to plant veg for ourselves after all those years growing plants for sale. First potatoes of the season were sooo good!

Awesome day today!
Bare feet on the grass,hands in the soil, knowing we provide for ourselves anxiety fades away😊
Hopefully you planted summer crops on Labor weekend.if not this weekend will do.
If you have garlic in feed them with seaweed or worm juice every 10 days or so and watch for the dreaded rust Use organic fungus spray or 1tsp baking soda to 1litre of water
Go out at night and check for slugs.We cover our beds to keep out the white butterfly-makes life easy.
Even in a tiny garden you can plant most veg in pots.

Great day tomorrow to get out in the garden 😊
Even in a small garden you can enjoy a Berry patch. Loads of vitamins and goodness!
Went to Mitre 10 a few weeks ago and started mine adding to the blackcurrant bushes that line the fence. I will mulch them with barley straw before summer.
Lots of compost and don't over lime.
