Something a little different to start 2026. I'm now repairing original iron lattice for a Dunedin house which needed sandblasting and repaired with fiberglass inserts glued in. I weighed the pieces before sandblasting at 15kg and after sandblasting they had lost a full kilo of paint. The pattern came back as well and you would never know they had been broken

Here is an update on the recently announced new kiwiana style pattern "Estelle Rose ". Sort of kiwi as it's all ferns, came from the Christchurch area with corners that didn't match so I made my own. This is the first time it has seen the light of day insitu. Very elegant don't you agree?

I thought I should show the interesting side of my house painted with its new colours. Quarter Sakura on the weatherboards and black rock on the foundations. Wooden doors are a custom double black rock to be different but tone in. All lacework is new fiberglass replication in alabaster white. Original iron lacework had rusted again after sandblasting so had to go. Same pattern just better.

Here's another first, a lacework job for a veranda that's not built yet. Hopefully EVERYONE measures correctly. Lots of decoration and arches across a 9.2mt span so lots of room for it to go horribly wrong but the end result is going to be stunning. 100mm posts between each gap with capitals as well. Capitals are the fancy wooden molding that fits around the veranda posts under the wrought iron. Keep an eye out in Cromwell for this one, you will not see another.

Here's a progress picture of another flat pack job that I shipped off recently overseas (north island) that left here black and is certainly not now. A far better option even with a white house as there's always a shadow under a veranda. More photos to come when the painting is completed

And here is another recent job that's been 2 years in the making. Homeowners wanted it now but weren't quite ready to install. Recently I got the call, we are now ready. So here it is. I had to remove tacky cheap wooden arches between veranda posts to install this and restore its proper facade. By that I mean original proper look. Henry Ford had a saying about the model T, you can have it in any color you like as long as it's black. Anything else is just tacky. Yes,it's the same with Victorian villas, they deserve original patterns. Absolutely makes this house and while it may not be what it actually had, it could have

Announcing a new pattern this month "Estelle Rose " named after an historic house in Riverton. A little bit of kiwiana perhaps with fern leaves? Don't really know but sounds good, Corners came from inside my head with prompting from another customer so absolutely unique to me.

Something a little different this time. This isn't even a Victorian villa but looks spectacular with a happy face as you can see from the pictures. Just a little imagination and thinking outside the box can produce amazing results. Wow!!! Pattern has special meaning to the owner as it has bunches of grapes in it and she used to organize wine tours around the region.

I have been asked about an oamaru house I did recently which has the biggest wrought iron I have ever seen. Seriously 2 inches deeper and the corners a full 6 inches larger than usual. This pattern is the same as smaller one, just larger. The house owner has original family photos of the veranda long since removed and scoured the streets of oamaru and then Dunedin to find that original pattern which he did so molds were made from borrowed parts and the house is exactly as it was. I'm sure you will agree it looks perfect and in proportion.
