🌨️ Weather Update ❄️
We are going ahead at this stage folks but it’s gonna be cold out there.
Snow has already fallen on parts of the course this week, with more rain (and possibly more snow) on the way. Forecasts are currently predicting 50–70mm of precipitation.
Our team has adjusted marshal deployment to ensure crews are in position ahead of the next front, giving us early insights into conditions on race morning. At present, there are patches of snow on the track, with some isolated icy sections—particularly around the Mackenzie zig zag.
➡️ A final decision will be made on race morning once we receive updated reports from our on-course team.
⚠️ Please note: The Department of Conservation (DoC) closed the track section between Mackenzie Hut and Falls Hut yesterday. There is currently a warning in place strongly advising anyone who is poorly equipped or inexperienced to turn back. This warning is likely to remain in place through tomorrow.
