When I found this painting in a local antique shop a couple of years ago, my heart literally skipped a beat, I lost my breath and got the most intense goose bumps!

I have had a photocopy of this beautiful, nameless, Wahine for about 24 years. The photocopy was given to me by the artist, Andre Noffz.

Andre painted the original from a photo given to him by her whanau. From what he told me way back then, she had taken her own life and her whanau wanted a portrait of her to honor her memory.

Unfortunately before he could give the finished painting to the whanu he lost contact with them.

A prolific painter, Andre passed away a few years ago and sadly many of his 100s of works were sent to the dump. I was lucky enough to be able to purchase another of his works from the estate.

But I had often wondered where the original of the gorgeous wahine went. So to have found her and actually have her in my care felt such an honor.

Today I have finally given her this perfect tray frame. It's almost like a hug the way it holds her 🙏

I will continue to care for her, however, I would love for her to be returned to her Whanau. So if anyone out there recognizes her, or, if you could share this post maybe we can send her home 🙏

I feel very privileged to have been asked to frame a collection of works by an old work colleague who sadly passed away a couple of years ago. Her husband is curating an exhibition of her paintings and has given me a select few to frame how ever I like. Yesterday, I was inspired to frame these two and I'm so pleased with the results.
Keeping in mind how the Artist would have liked them framed,
I think she would love these

I found this painting in a 2nd hand art sale. It's the cutest little painting of one of my favorite places to stop for a swim when floating down the Waikato.
And, I stop here most mornings on my dog walk to watch the river flow and listen to the birds.

Finally made it a little frame from offcuts today. Didn't quite have enough of the tray frame, hence the missing corner which I quite like, so consider it a feature 😆.
