I realised I have neglected my page of late so I thought I would get back into sharing more of what I get up to. I love making compost and find it quite miraculous really. There are so many benefits to making your own compost. It keeps waste out of landfills, saves money and you end up with an ongoing supply of beautiful, rich compost for the garden that is far superior to store bought products. Autumn is a great time of year to collect fallen leaves if you have deciduous trees as they are a valuable source of carbon and should ideally make up the bulk of a compost heap to keep it balanced and healthy. I like to add seaweed to mine and this is also where some of the green waste from my customers ends up.
