Well it’s been a minute since my last post, we have had a lot of changes at HDL which has been for the better but will update in due course. In the mean time here’s a little two bedroom apartment in Cuba Street my new apprentice (Melissa) and I completed this week.

Another job completed at the beautiful Cape Runway on the East Cape. Hammond Decorators have had the privilege of lovingly repainting the exterior of the Kemp family’s hundred-year-old woolshed. This was a very special and emotional project for everyone involved, as the work was first talked about when Jim Kemp was still with us, and has now been completed in his absence. Seeing it finished feels like a tribute to his vision and to the family’s history. The result has come up beautifully, and we’re grateful to the Kemp family for trusting us with such a meaningful piece of their heritage.

We recently finished stage two at Molesworth Mews retirement village. We completed 14 townhouses in just over two weeks. Awesome job boys looks great. Love the scones. Good cup of tea. Will miss this place, back again in six years to start all over.

Nice little job completed recently for one of our awesome local Karori clients ✅

We replaced the shrunken window rubbers on the aluminium joinery that were causing water to get in and swell the interior sills. We also removed and replaced the corner board where the flashing had been installed incorrectly, then applied two coats of Resene X-200 waterproofing membrane to the textured cladding.

Another home protected and another happy customer!

Hammond Decorators have completed the new fit-out for the Citizens Advice Bureau on Manners Street in the heart of Wellington. The job looks amazing — a bright and modern space brought to life with a fun colour palette featuring Half Black White, Boston Blue, Limerick, Cloud, and Festival.
