June meeting

Sunday 7th June,
2pm at Dempsey and Forrest.
We will have a short Annual General Meeting, and then we will follow with our usual meeting.

The focus of the meeting will be on feeding your orchids.
Phil will lead the discussion; however, club members will bring interesting insights. Bring your plants for display.
It’s been great to see so many flowering plants brought by a number of members; remember, you
don’t actually need to stand up to discuss your plants if you prefer not to.

May Meeting

This will be held on Sunday, 3rd May, 2pm at Dempsey and Forrest.

Note that this is the first daytime meeting for the winter season.

You are encouraged to bring along your 'Hospital orchids' or any that you need advise with.
With the large combined experience in the club, we are sure we can help you to provide the best for your orchids.

Also bring along your orchids in bloom for discussion and people choice judging and a few dollars for the raffles if you wish.

April Meeting

Again, it was really nice to see a large number attend the April meeting. Welcome back to our recently new members, and welcome to the new faces at this meeting. We hope to see you at the next meeting.

A fairly large variety of orchids were on display with plenty of discussion about them.
Cath presented her talknon how she cares for her Phalaenopsis orchids, and there were many questions asked from the audience.
It's a great way to share information and learn from others.

Next meeting it was asked for you to bring in any orchid you have that you would like advise or help with. With the combined knowledge of club members, there is sure to be answers to help you out.

A reminder that in May we switch to Sunday afternoon meetings for the winter months.

Our members are ready to offer expert guidance on how to create the perfect environment for your Phalaenopsis to flourish and rebloom. Additionally, the meeting will feature a display of various orchids cultivated in Whanganui, allowing attendees to gain insights from fellow enthusiasts. Great to get back into the monthly meetings again for the year.
Another great number of members attending tonight with two new members. Welcome to the Wanganui Orchid Society.

A few plants for display tonight (Oops, I forgot to take some photos)

Lindsey gave a talk and demonstration on how he repots his Masdevallia orchids.
Good to see him getting his hands (and the floor) dirty for the benefit of the members. Plenty of tips shared for all.

Next month will be discussion on Phalaenopsis orchids care. Please feel welcome to join the discussion and bring along any Phalaenopsis you wish to show or ask help about.
