BACKGROUND

Half a century ago, a young architect set-up a small shop in the outskirts of old Manila. Piece by piece, he started with small chairs for houses until the business grew to serve industry giants.

I was four years old when I would hang around my grandfather’s old workshop in Manila. I would sit beside him with a pencil and paper go about pretending to design houses and everything else. Oftentimes, he would bring me along jobsites such as hotels and airports. I would watch him take on every detail to each component whether it’s a house or an armchair. I wanted to bring the same quality of service back to the market.

In 2009, I started the business on my own, listed as First Base Design and Build Co., with a few pairs of paintbrushes and an electric drill. Eventually, and with the right team, we reorganized our company as Jabcon Builders Inc. (2015) to tackle more jobs as the market demanded. From just renovations and repairs, we are truly now a design and build company that provides planning to finish projects.
