Discovering Japanese Aesthetics & Architecture Philosophy @ SINE POP (Oct 12, 2025)

To all the architecture students who joined us—thank you.
Our Architecture × Manga Workshop reached full capacity within a few days of opening registration, and the studio energy on the day was incredible. The quality and boldness of your outputs genuinely impressed our entire team.

In the lecture session, Haruki Takashima, Yu Tsubuku, and Jar Concengco unpacked key aspects of Japanese architectural culture and aesthetics. We hope the workshop + lecture give you practical ideas you can bring back to your studios, critiques, and research.

We’re already planning the next edition.

SOAR Design Co., is pleased to invite architects, students and design enthusiasts to participate in the upcoming event, Architecture Dialogues: Discovering Japanese Aesthetics and Architecture Philosophy, which will take place on Sunday, October 12, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Sine Pop, Quezon City.

This special program is made possible through the generous support of the Japan Foundation Manila. The event will feature talks, discussions, and interactive sessions that highlight the principles of Japanese aesthetics and architectural philosophy, and how these ideas continue to shape and inspire the Philippine context today.

✨ SOAR Design Co. at Mapúa University ✨

Last August 18, SOAR Design Co. was honored to be part of UAPSA-Mapúa Chapter’s UAPSA Summit: Designers of Tomorrow with the theme “Weaving Vision into Design.” 🌍✨

The summit brought together students, educators, and professionals for a day of learning, exchange, and inspiration. We are proud to share that our very own Haruki Takashima was invited as one of the speakers, where he talked about design philosophy and vision for shaping the future of architecture. 💡🏛️

We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with the next generation of architects and celebrate the creativity that will define tomorrow’s built environment.

We kicked off the first session of our Mentorship Program this July 12 with an inspiring afternoon of learning and creativity! ✨

Students from Rizal Technological University and the University of Santo Tomas explored the world of parametric design using Rhino 3D.The highlight of the session? Each student presented their own unique interpretation of the iconic Serpentine Pavilion.

Important Reminders: Please take note that our mentorship program differs from an internship program. The mentorship program is designed solely as an educational workshop for Rhino and Grasshopper and is NOT a paid on-the-job training.

Furthermore, if you are satisfying a university requirement, our mentorship program will NOT count towards your internship hours.

SOAR Design Co. was honored to be part of UST ArchiNet’s vibrant showcase of creativity, innovation, and collaboration last April 7–8. As one of the exhibitors, we had the chance to share our work and connect with the next generation of designers.

We also had the pleasure of organizing an on-the-spot sketch and design contest where students were able to show their talents and skills.

🎉 Congratulations to the Winner! 🎉

We are thrilled to announce the winner of the On-the-Spot Sketch and Design Competition held last April 7–8, with the theme "Your Favorite Place in the Campus +1" — where creativity met vision as participants reimagined their beloved campus spaces with one thoughtful design addition.

🏆 Entry No. 013 - "Silent Echoes" by Paolo M. Catolos has emerged as our Champion!

With a masterful blend of emotion and ingenuity, Silent Echoes captured the essence of reflection and quietude along the UST Rosarium.Adding a form that is bold yet transparent serves as an intervention to revitalize the space.
