CLIENT – How much will it cost to do this job?
CONTRACTOR - 1.5million
CLIENT – That’s too expensive for this job!
CONTRACTOR – How much do you think it should cost?
CLIENT – 800k max! It’s a simple job!
CONTRACTOR – I can’t do the job for so little.
CLIENT – People in your line of work wants to make a huge profit!
CONTRACTOR – I’m sorry you feel this way. Why don’t you do the job?
CLIENT – But, but, I don’t know how to do any of that.
CONTRACTOR – For 300k, I can teach you everything you need to know to do the job. You can then use 800k to do the job, and you’re still saving 400k . Also, you will obtain all the knowledge and the experience for the next time you need to do this job.
CLIENT – Deal!
CONTRACTOR – Great! To start, you need to buy tools. You will need a chipping hammer, a nail gun, a laser, a drill, a mixer machine, Grinder, PPE, and some other things.
CLIENT – But, I don’t have any of those tools and I can’t buy all that for just one job!
CONTRACTOR – Ok. I can rent you my tools for another 150k. You’re still saving 250k.
CLIENT – That’s cutting my savings, but I will rent your tools.
CONTRACTOR – Perfect! I’ll be back Saturday and we can start.
CLIENT – Wait! I can’t Saturday. I only have time today.
CONTRACTOR – I’m sorry, I only teach others on Saturdays. I have to prioritize my time and my tools needs to be in other jobs I have during the week.
CLIENT – Ok then. I will sacrifice my family’s plans on Saturday.
CONTRACTOR – Right, me too! Oh, I forgot. If you’re going to do the job yourself, you need to buy the materials. There’s a high demand nowadays, so your best bet is to get a truck and be at the hardware store by 6am before other contractors get there.
CLIENT – AT SIX IN THE MORNING? On Saturday? That’s too early for me. I don’t even have a truck!
CONTRACTOR – I guess you’ll have to rent one. By the way, do you have some helpers to help you load the truck?
CLIENT – You know what? I’ve been thinking. Probably it's better for you to do the job. It’s better to pay you to do the job right and not having to go through all that hassle.
CONTRACTOR – Good thinking. Sign here and let me get to work.

"An architect is expensive? The importance of the architect."

What does it mean to hire an architect?

Nowadays it is common to realize that hiring an architect is something unfeasible, expensive or even unnecessary. Contrary to this common sense, an architect helps you realize your needs and turn your idea into a workable project. To simplify this idea, the architect when he realizes his needs will advise him to carry out his project according to the value that you intend to make available. Much due to their training, knowledge and technical qualifications will choose the material and resources most suitable for the team responsible for building the project know what should and how to use. After all, is it expensive to hire an architect?

Expensive compared to what? With a builder? The service they offer is quite different, with the architect having unique skills and knowledge. So answering the question, our answer is not
because if we look at the advantages and costs vs. benefits, an architect does not specifically require a cost but rather an investment in your project!

Hindi lahat ng Arkitekto mayaman, hindi lahat may kumpanya and definitely not all Architects are bound to build their own names. Yung iba empleyado muna

Here in the Philippines,you need to start small.... dahil wala kang choice.

There's nothing wrong starting from the bottom, it's a step by step ladder to reach the peak. Yung iba pinipili pa mang amuhan so they can sustain their living.

Takot mag risk to create a new path to private practice. Why? Kasi..

Mostly but not all that I know they always say , "Architects are Rich, Theyre making tons of money!". They don't really know na mas mataas pa ang sahod ng Mason at Foreman sa aming may mga lisensya.

Very disoriented ang tingin ng mga tao sa Architects, sometimes they're interchanging Architects to Engineers to Contractors, quite common sa Pinoy. Basta gumagawa ng bahay Engineer or Architect na. Basta "Drawing" lang arki na.

Kaya most of us are not into these services because of people's lack of knowledge when it comes to the importance of hiring an Architect.

Luckily still, we can gain and cultivate our learnings thru this process. We are grateful to the clients na...

1.Kamag anak mong "uy, tita,pinsan,ninong,ninang mo ako ha, discount ha" - Ok naman mag padiscount pero dont expect it to be cut off by half naman.

2.Client na, "may lote pako dun, may bahay pako dun, pag ok price mo kunin kita" - forda sales talk para may huge discount lol

3.Magkano per SQM clients, "Bos magkano per sqm pag yung bahay ko mukang tropical industrial funeral theme? - Ball park lang po binibigay namin not the exact figures! It should start always on the design.

4.Drawing muna bago bayad - pag ganto.. I cannot talaga. Parang ginawang COD ung design. Lazada yarn?

5.Mayaman VS medyo mayaman VS mukang hindi mayaman
Mayaman - Kuripot, ok kausap sa una lang
Medyo mayaman - Galante, mahusay kausap hanggang dulo
Lowkey mayaman - pinaka ok kausap ❤️

Hayy Arki sa Pinas, mas malaki pa kita sa contruction kesa sa Design, somehow true pero if you can yield and build your experience in construction and design maybe next time,we can see your name aligned to the Elite Architects!

𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝗧𝗲𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁

1) University is Never Boring

While there is no argument that architectural school is challenging, it is also fascinating unlike many other schools. The entire experience is much more dynamic and proactive. You’ll get knowledge and learn vast theories from different fields and industries, including economics, philosophy, and social work.
Since architecture offers a wide range of knowledge, future architects usually find school demanding, exciting, and rewarding.

2) Gain Respect

Even when people don’t entirely understand what an architect does, there is a global perception about architects being responsible, knowledgeable, and ethical. It’s the fundamental reason why so many books and main movie characters are architects. Moreover, people rarely perceive them as money-drawn professionals like lawyers or doctors.

3) The Job Constantly Evolves

Programming and building technology are essential parts of architecture processes. The materials are constantly evolving, and so are technologies and construction methods. Moreover, things like energy consumption, recycled material usage, and building performance are under constant development. As an architect, you’ll evolve professionally along with the entire landscape. Work will never be tedious, and you’ll constantly grow professionally. The final product doesn’t have a right or wrong solution in architecture. Moreover, architects are constantly trying new technologies, exploring various materials, and incorporating new processes into their projects.

When you graduate with an architecture degree, you don’t have to know what type of architecture you want to practice. Unlike many other professions, you’re free to choose out of many positions as an architecture graduate. You can work in small or big firms and float between roles like designer, project architect, or project manager. Architects work on various building types for different sectors. You may work in retail, residential, civic, or retail sectors until you figure out the one that suits you best.

6) Work for As Long as You Like

You can always practice architecture. Moreover, most architects reach the highest points in their careers in their 50s. By then, they fully understand who they are, what they want and love doing. Most architects have long, successful careers and many open private practices after they retire at big companies.

7) Individuality

The way architecture as industry embraces the creativity and individualism of every person is one of the most beautiful things in architecture. It encourages you to unleash your creativity and find a style that manifests uniquely beyond your work. If you want to live an authentic, creative life and express your true self through work and lifestyle, architecture is perfect for you.

8) Knowledge

An architect is usually a specialist at literally everything. The exciting part of architecture studies is about learning a wide array of theories from different fields regularly. If you’re hungry for knowledge, you’ll be happy to know it extends to an architect’s working career.
An architect can never have too much knowledge. Every project is a new chance to include new technology, innovative ideas, and new processes. There are various construction methods to explore and successful organization theories to include in projects. As an architect, you’ll know a ton of things, and you’ll learn new ones all the time.

To the CLIENTS looking for an Architect, please don't ask for a free design.

To the INDIVIDUALS who keep on stealing our work, where's your ethics?

We spent a minimum of 7 years to get where we are right now but that's just the beginning of the journey.

If you are a newly passed Architect please bear with me.

I know you want a project
I know you're excited to create your first ever signed and sealed masterpiece into a reality but please.

DON'T give a design without a Service Agreement.

DON'T give an ocular visit without a fee for you effort and consultation

DON'T bid for the lowest cost.

DON'T lie to your clients.

To the CLIENTS :

DON'T tell us, "Drawing lang naman yan"

DON'T ask us, "Bat kay ganito libre lang?

and PLEASE DON'T ask an estimate without any plans and specification. Madam Auring is the key?

To the INVIDUALS :

Don't draw ARCHITECTURAL PLANS, if you're not an Architect

DON'T practice it, if you're not an Architect

DON'T be an orange if youre an apple ;)

PS : Drafting is different from Designing

Lastly, for the new Architects . Enjoy the journey. If you want to earn more experience. Go out of your comfort zone.
