𝟭𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿: 𝙃𝙤𝙮𝙖 𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙖

This species is a critically endangered climber native to few parts of Southeast Asia (Singapore, Sumatra, Thailand, and Malaysia). It thrives in the humid, shaded forests of tropical lowlands and is renowned for its ornamental appeal. Its large, dark green leaves, adorned with silver speckles and a satin-like finish, can reach up to 15 cm in length, turning nearly black under intense light.

Its inflorescence consists of fuzzy, pink star-shaped flowers or hairy white blooms with red coronas and long white hairs, depending on the phenotypic differences, lasting one to seven days. It can tolerate drought well and blooms repeatedly on the same peduncle under optimal conditions. However, it is sensitive to overwatering, temperature fluctuations, and mechanical disturbances.

This species blooms year-round and grows rapidly into a spectacular specimen, adding both foliage and floral beauty to any collection.
