"Rooted in Place"

In designing this home, a key guiding principle was to celebrate the mature tree that stands proudly beside the main entrance. Rather than treating it as a peripheral element, the tree became an integral part of the entry sequence, setting the tone for a home that balances natural presence with architectural clarity.

As visitors approach, the tree offers a moment of pause and transition. Its canopy creates a soft, dappled light across the entry path, offering both shelter and a sense of arrival. The entrance itself is slightly recessed to accommodate the tree’s roots, and the walkway curves gently to follow the natural contours of its base, enhancing a feeling of harmony between built and natural elements.

This design transforms the act of entering the home into a layered experience, moving from public space, to a tree-lined threshold, to a calm and grounded interior. The tree becomes not just a part of the site, but a living symbol of welcome, permanence, and connection.

The result is a house that feels anchored to its environment a dialogue between architecture and nature that honors what was already there, while offering a modern, comfortable living experience. The tree is not just preserved; it is celebrated.
