Hole in the Wall | Unbuilt

Characterized by a lot fronting the main house, the client wanted to create a convenience store and cafe for her family business. The site is located within the shortcut between Capitol and Lahug. Situated in an area hidden from view of the city, the project seeks to meet code requirements and slow pace of residential zones.
The cafe is concealed from view from the road, but a red bricked recessed wall with seating serves as the entrance. The entranced red color in contrast to the much colored exterior wall serves to draw customers toward the interior while also creating a transitional space to make the cafe and convenience store much more private. The interior space is divided into the cafe, which has an on the go counter on the outside, while having an espresso bar, pour over area and cashier in the interior space concealed from view from the outside.
This project seeks to take advantage of the need of a convenience store within proximity to the residential area, and place a cafe where families and friends could spend time together.
