وائس چانسلر کی NRPU ریسرچ گرانٹس کے حصول کے لیے اسٹریٹجک تصوراتی نوٹس کی اہمیت پر زور
یونیورسٹیوں کے لیے نیشنل ریسرچ پروگرام (NRPU) کے تحت تحقیقی گرانٹس حاصل کرنے کے لیے ایک مؤثر اور دلکش تصوراتی نوٹ (Concept Note) جس میں پرکشش عنوان، واضح مقاصد، مضبوط طریقۂ کار (Methodology)، اور قومی و عالمی ترجیحات سے ہم آہنگ متوقع نتائج شامل ہوں، نہایت ضروری ہے۔ یہ بات وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ذوالفقار علی نے نیو سینیٹ ہال اور اگلے روز سنڈی کیٹ ہال میں منعقد ہونے والے NRPU درخواست دہندگان کے خصوصی سیشنز کی صدارت کرتے ہوئے کہی۔
یہ سیشن آفس آف ریسرچ، انوویشن اینڈ کمرشلائزیشن (ORIC) کی جانب سے منعقد کیا گیا تھا، جس کا مقصد ایچ ای سی پورٹل پر جمع کروانے سے قبل تصوراتی نوٹسز کا تنقیدی جائزہ لے کر انہیں مزید بہتر اور مؤثر بنانا تھا۔ وائس چانسلر نے محققین پر زور دیا کہ وہ اپنی تجاویز کو مقامی ضروریات اور بین الاقوامی اہمیت سے ہم آہنگ کریں، ساتھ ہی اپنی پیشہ ورانہ مہارت اور مجوزہ تحقیق مکمل کرنے کی اہلیت کو بھی نمایاں کریں۔
تقریباً سات گھنٹوں پر مشتمل اس انٹرایکٹو سیشن کے دوران، محققین نے اپنے تصوراتی نوٹس پیش کیے جن کا گہرائی سے جائزہ لیا گیا اور انہیں عملی طور پر مضبوط بنانے کے لیے تعمیری تجاویز فراہم کی گئیں۔ جائزہ بورڈ نے ہر پروپوزل کو فنڈنگ ایجنسیز کے معیار سے ہم آہنگ بنانے کے لیے تفصیلی رہنمائی فراہم کی۔
اس موقع پر جائزہ ٹیم میں شامل تھے: پروفیسر ڈاکٹر راؤ زاہد عباس (PO ATRI)، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد نوید (ISES)، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر سیف الرحمٰن (انسٹیٹیوٹ آف اینیمل اینڈ ڈیری سائنس)، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر ناظم اکبر (ایگرانومی)، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر سہیل ساجد (پیرسائٹولوجی)، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر آصف حنیف (کیمسٹری)، پروفیسر ڈاکٹر جام نذیر احمد (اینٹومولوجی)، ڈاکٹر عائشہ خاتون (پیتھالوجی)، ڈاکٹر رضوانہ مقبول (PBG)، ڈاکٹر وسیم امجد (انرجی سسٹم انجینئرنگ)، ڈاکٹر خرم ضیاء (منیجر ریسرچ مینجمنٹ ORIC)، ڈاکٹر حمیرا رَزّاق (ڈپٹی)، اور ڈاکٹر فرقان اصغر (ڈپٹی ڈائریکٹر ORIC)۔
جبکہ ORIC ٹیم سے ڈاکٹر سائرہ اختر، عائشہ ارشد، محمد حنیف، رائمہ بابر، عبد الرحمن سکھیرہ، ساجد پروین، عابدہ پروین، محمد اعظم، شہزاد سیّد اور دیگر نے بھی شرکت کی۔
دو روزہ مشق کے دوران تقریباً 120 تحقیقی پروپوزلز پیش کیے گئے، جن کا تفصیلی جائزہ لیا گیا۔ محققین کو مشورہ دیا گیا کہ وہ موجودہ خامیوں کو دور کریں اور پروپوزلز کو اس انداز میں پیش کریں کہ وہ فنڈنگ کے قابلِ قدر محسوس ہوں۔
وائس چانسلر نے ہدایت کی کہ IRAB ٹیم باہمی مشاورت سے پروپوزلز کو مزید نکھارے اور حتمی کاپی ان کی منظوری کے لیے ارسال کی جائے۔ وائس چانسلر کی ہدایات پر عمل درآمد کرتے ہوئے، ORIC نے 18 اکتوبر 2025 بروز ہفتہ IRAB کا اجلاس منعقد کیا جس میں ترمیم شدہ پروپوزلز کا تفصیلی جائزہ لیا گیا اور وائس چانسلر کو بھیجنے کے لیے سفارشات مرتب کی گئیں۔
VICE CHANCELLOR STRESSES STRATEGIC CONCEPT NOTES FOR SECURING NRPU RESEARCH GRANTS
A well-crafted concept note featuring a compelling title, clearly defined objectives, robust methodology, and anticipated outcomes aligned with national and global priorities is essential for securing competitive research grants. This was emphasized by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali while chairing exclusive sessions with applicants of the National Research Program for Universities (NRPU) at New Senate Hall and Syndicate Hall on the next day.
Organized by the Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC), the session aimed to critically review and enhance concept notes prior to their submission on the Higher Education Commission (HEC) portal. Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali urged researchers to align their proposals with both local relevance and international significance, while also reflecting their professional expertise and capacity to execute the proposed methodology and achieve meaningful results.
Spanning over seven hours, the interactive session provided a platform for researchers to present their concept notes for rigorous evaluation, constructive feedback, and strategic refinement. The review board offered detailed suggestions to elevate each proposal to a level that meets the expectations of funding agencies.
Prof. Dr. Rao Zahid Abbas- PO ATRI, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naveed ISES, Prof. Dr. Saif ur Rehman Inst. of Animal & Dairy Science, Prof. Dr. Nadem Akbar Agronomy, Prof. Dr. Sohail Sajid Parasitology, Prof. Dr. Asif Hanif Chemistry, Prof. Dr. Jam Nazir Ahmad Entomology, Dr. Ayesha Khatoon Pathology, Dr. Rizwana Maqbool PBG, Dr. Waseem Amjad Energy System Engineering, Dr. Khuram Zai Manager Research Management ORIC, Dr. Humaira Razzaq Deputy and Dr. Furqan Asghar Deputy Director ORIC were among the evaluators whereas from ORIC Dr. Saira Akhtar, Aisha Arshad, Muhammad Hanif, Raima Babar, Abdur Rehman Sukhera, Sajid Parveen, Abida Parveen, Mr. Muhammad Azam, Shahzad Seed and others attended the session.
There were about 120 research proposals presented and evaluated during two-day exercise. The researchers were advised to bridge the gaps and make the proposals attract worthy for funding. The Vice Chancellor desired the IRAB to jell their heads together and further fine-tune the proposals and send a final copy for his review. Complying with Vice Chancellor directions, ORIC hosted IRAB meeting on Saturday October 18, 2025 wherein revised proposals were reviewed in detail and made recommendations for onward transmission to the Vice Chancellor.
