It is with mixed emotions that we share the news that the soap! conference, scheduled for 2024, will not take place this year. This decision comes after careful consideration of various factors, including post-pandemic changes, shifts in the conference landscape, and personal changes within the soap! team.

The decision to pause the conference was not an easy one, but we believe it is essential for us to take the time to reflect, reassess our goals, and determine the best path forward. Soapuszka is very happy that Lance Cummings 's Kraków edition of Writing Strategies for Business and Innovation is meeting face-to-face for the first time this semester.

She'll get to spend time exploring the impacts of culture on writing and innovation with students, talking about Polish culture, and helping our team solve a real problem for Hitachi Energy with the help of District C.

What’s the optimal size of a tech writing team? How many managers per technical writer is too many? What’s data storytelling and how to make use of it in customer documentation? Lance Cummings and Soapuszka had fun this week creating solutions for a challenging problem presented to us by TradeWinds Investment Services and District C in Lousiburg, NC.

Lance also tried to recruit some graduating seniors to help him bring Soapuszka back next summer for Soap!
