With rising costs and food supply chains being disrupted, it only becomes more important to be self-sustainable. Don’t fret, no one is expecting you to rear your own meat and seafood - but every little helps. Start off by growing herbs such as basil for your personal use! They can be harvested many times, and saves you the hassle (and money) of going to the market every time you just need a pinch 😮‍💨 This also helps prevent food wastage, because these herbs often come in quantities larger than what we need. Do your part to help Singapore be self sustainable and reach now 🤍🫶

Maple peas make us hap-pea! 🌱

An Asian delicacy also know as 豆苗! With its sweet and mild flavour, maple pea shoots are best enjoyed stir-fried with garlic 🧄🥘

Maple pea shoots are also super easy to grow! 🤩 After soaking for about 8-12 hours, sow the seeds atop 1 inch of potting mix and cover with another thin layer of soil. Alternatively, they can be grown hydroponically 🌱 Make sure not to let them dry out! The shoots can be harvested in about a week, when they are 7-10cm tall. Enjoy your greens fresh out of the garden! 😋🤤

For more information, head over to our webstore, or you can also DM us here. Have a good week everyone!

Happy hump day! 👩🏼‍🌾

If you’ve always wanted to enjoy the healthy goodness of microgreens, but dislike soil or want to enjoy your harvest faster, then sprouting is a method for you!

If you’re unfamiliar with this term, just think of the ubiquitous 豆芽 we enjoy!Sprouting is a process of germinating the seeds in just water and a jar. It is easy, fuss-free, and one of the tastiest ways you can enjoy your veggies. Sprouts, like microgreens, are extremely high in nutrients. What’s more, no cutting or washing is required, as there is no icky soil to get rid of! Sprouting is perfect for beginners and even the young ones for their first gardening experience. 👶🏻

Some seeds that are great for sprouting are: broccoli, alfalfa, maple peas, beets (we carry 2 varieties!), onions, and arugula (rocket). A detailed tutorial on sprouting is available on our blog, which can be found through our webstore (link in our bio).

With our ongoing 15% off for 2 items promotion, what best time to try sprouting other than now? 🤔

DID YOU KNOW: New Zealand spinach is not a true spinach? 😱

Unlike spinach, they are more heat tolerant and can be grown in Singapore's climate. Although they are not related to true spinaches, they are enjoyed the same way! They are rich in Vitamin C, which is essential for a healthy immune system and also helps boost iron levels, keeping you healthy (especially in the recent Covid wave).

It’s been said that Captain Cook and his crew ate New Zealand Spinach to prevent scurvy…👀 Try some now! Link in story ~
