Sometimes restoration means knowing when not to reuse a piece.
As I removed the old black paint from these legs, I discovered they had been heavily damaged by woodworms. Although they won't become part of this cabinet, I couldn't bring myself to throw them away.
Instead, I'll treat them, fill the damaged areas and preserve them until they're ready for a future project.
Not every original element can stay, but every piece deserves a chance to be saved.
