On July 15, 1943, Jocelyn Bell Burnell was born. She is an astrophysicist and physicist from Northern Ireland who was the first to discover the radio signals produced by a neutron star (pulsar). Her discovery led to the awarding of the Nobel Prize in 1974, but she was not one of the recipients.
