"Lobby as a shared living space"

The ground floor brings together the reception, kitchen, and living area into one continuous space.

A soft white–cream base creates warmth, layered with color through small terracotta tiles in varied patterns.

Solid wood built-in furniture adds tactility and a sense of permanence,

while natural light is drawn in through glass and folding doors, softened by arched openings.

Corridor as circulation spine

The corridor connects guest rooms, shared bathrooms, and the staircase—shaping movement through the building.

A white base creates calmness, while color is introduced through small tiles and details.

Room doors in maroon red, beige, and peacock blue act as subtle markers, adding identity and orientation along the way.

The staircase is conceived as a folded plane, unfolding vertically through the building.

Finished in deep maroon, it defines the circulation core and guides movement within the compact footprint. A folded steel plate handrail follows each step, reinforcing the geometry in detail.

Acting as a connective spine, it links guest rooms, shared bathrooms, and common areas across floors—where movement becomes an architectural moment.

"Rooms defined by color identity"

Dorm rooms are organized into 6- and 8-bed layouts, each expressed through a distinct palette—maroon red, beige, and peacock blue.

Beds line both sides, framing a central corridor that draws the eye toward a window at the end—creating a sense of depth and openness within a compact space.

The top floor shifts into a more private atmosphere, serving as the owner’s residence.

A restrained palette of white, beige, and natural wood built-ins defines the space, with views extending toward "Wat Chedi Luang"—one of Chiang Mai’s most iconic landmarks.

The project’s primary materials are locally sourced—terracotta tiles, brick, and glass blocks—composed into patterns that offer both tactile texture and a calm, cohesive overall expression.

Certain facade surfaces feature a gradient transition from earthy brown to soft white, evoking layers of soil that reflect the accumulation of time.

Angmor Hostel Chiangmai คือโฮสเทลบูติก (Boutique Hostel) ขนาดกะทัดรัด สูง 4 ชั้น หน้ากว้าง 12 เมตร ตั้งอยู่ใจกลางเมืองเก่าเชียงใหม่ ท่ามกลางบริบทที่เต็มไปด้วยชั้นของประวัติศาสตร์ ทั้งวัด โครงสร้างเมืองดั้งเดิม และสถาปัตยกรรมหลากยุค

โปรเจกต์ไม่ได้พยายาม “เลียนแบบอดีต” แต่เลือกตีความใหม่ ผ่านองค์ประกอบที่คุ้นเคย เช่น symmetry, สัดส่วนแนวตั้ง และช่องเปิดโค้ง นำมาปรับด้วยวัสดุและบรรยากาศแบบล้านนา
Facade ถูกออกแบบเป็นจังหวะของ vertical frame และช่องเปิดวงกลม สร้างเอกลักษณ์ให้กับอาคารในบริบทเดิม

พื้นที่ภายในถูกจัดเพื่อรับแสงและลมธรรมชาติอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ ด้วยการเปิดด้านหน้า–หลัง พร้อม communal space ที่เชื่อมต่อสวน สระน้ำ และ semi-outdoor terrace
ห้องพักถูกจัดเป็น dorm 6 และ 8 เตียง ใช้โทนสี maroon, beige และ peacock blue เพื่อสร้าง identity ของแต่ละห้อง

ชั้นบนสุดเป็นพื้นที่พักอาศัยของเจ้าของ เปิดมุมมองไปยัง "วัดเจดีย์หลวง" วัดเก่าแก่ชื่อดังของจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ พร้อมช่องเปิดวงกลม 3 ช่องที่กลายเป็น signature ของอาคาร

วัสดุหลักของโครงการเลือกใช้วัสดุท้องถิ่น เช่น กระเบื้องดินเผา, อิฐ, และ glass block จัดวางเป็น pattern ที่ให้ทั้ง texture และความเรียบสงบในภาพรวม
พื้นผิวบางส่วนไล่เฉดจากน้ำตาลสู่ขาว เปรียบเสมือน “ชั้นดิน” ที่สะท้อนการทับซ้อนของเวลา

Angmor ไม่ได้ย้อนอดีต
แต่เป็นสถาปัตยกรรมร่วมสมัยที่ “อยู่ร่วม” กับเมืองเก่าอย่างเรียบง่าย และมีตัวตนของตัวเองอย่างชัดเจน
