As fall begins and the weather drops everyone will be preparing to turn their heat on overnight or during those cold days. I have to say, this is a proud moment for my son and I at Blue Ribbon Home Inspection. We called this out during a home inspection as a major violation/concern. This home had a flush mount furnace intake and exhaust placed too close to a deck. It was early summer when we inspected the home.

This could have been catastrophic "deadly" for the home owner if any amount of snow fall would have fallen this winter and blocked the exhaust from the furnace. This could have filled the home with Carbon Monoxide gas, resulting in death to all the occupants.

This is why we do what we do. This is why a home inspection is so important. After the inspection of this home, the owner relocated the surface mount furnace intake to a proper/safe location. Such a proud moment for Blue Ribbon Home Inspection!
