Because I’m done with winter.

Christmas around our house is never about doing more.
It’s about doing what already exists, just a little more intentionally.

I love letting the home stay itself and simply layering in the season.
Fresh greens. Soft lights. Candle glow.
Small moments that quietly say it’s Christmas.

Nothing too precious.
Nothing too perfect.
Just warm, familiar, and lived in.

These are the corners we pass every day, made slightly more special for a few weeks each year.
And honestly, that’s my favorite kind of decorating.

Kid's rooms can be a challenge to design but they are often the most fun, especially when they are filled with personality. At one point I had a different curtain colored sourced, but my little client told me with confidence the blue floral was it and gave me a "Mom, it's my room!" when I dared to question her. She's 4, but I must admit she made the right call! It was only right for a girl with that much personality to have a room that matched.

Call it an evolution...

When it comes to renovation, it can be just as important to know what to keep as it is what to let go. Our personal cabin renovation is still very much in progress, but the first two pictures show it today. While the 3rd photo is the before.

Now patiently waiting on the 16 week lead time for the coffee table. 😳😂

Twinkle lights make people happy... it's science.

I stay relatively consistent with my tree each year. Honestly, you do not need a new theme each year, especially if you stick to the classics. But I do use a bit of a formula for my tree. Save this post so you have it for later.

1. Start with the ribbon, looping in and out of the tree. Bigger loops are better. I used 4" gold ribbon and a very large green iridescent netting on this tree.

2. This part is optional but add in string garlands. I used homemade popcorn & orange slice garlands.

3. Add branches to the tree to fill it in. I used magnolia branches and pearl sticks. You'll need a lot of these.

4. Add ornament sets, like glass bulbs in varying sizes. For decorative ornaments, you'll want a minimum of 6 of each kind.

5. Also optional, but my opinion this is the very best part. Add in your sentimental, collected ornaments.
