My car is packed with lots of trays of seedlings and a bunch of window box planters for Spring Fling & Vintage Things tomorrow at Market on Main - 8am-2pm. 🌿🌸🥒🍅 I will also have Botanical Interests seeds and a few other things! I’m raffling off this beautiful herb planter. and tickets are a $1 each. Proceeds go to Alton Community Services/Food pantry.❤️

I’ve been getting plants out to my garden a few at a time over the last few weeks…My existing beds are planted with cool season crops, some seedlings, and some direct seeded things like carrots, and beets and radishes. 🥕🫜

Asparagus has been growing for a week or so, but I have not picked any. This is only the second year, and the rule is to wait until year 3 to pick on a regular basis. I might snag a couple of stalks, but I’d rather the energy go back into the plant to produce much more next year.

Today I emptied a window box planter that had some colorful greens growing that I had started from seed. 🥬 I separated all of the varieties into piles, and then planted them next to one of my raise bed gardens. I’d rather mix use of ALL of the garden space even if it’s not in the beds. Having a background in garden design translates well to planting vegetables and colorful edibles in a garden space!

Today was our cut off for sign ups, and as there was no one, we decided to postpone this event until possibly fall…

This Herb Garden Workshop is coming up Wednesday evening from 5-6:30 at Abenaki Lodge in Wolfeboro! 🌿 Come learn about many different kinds of herbs, and plant your own planter to take home. Reach out to Wolfeboro Parks and Recreationto register!
