Let’s talk about the dining room!
I am deeply in love with the paneling and really like that it’s higher on the opposite wall from the window. We’re leaning towards adding a mural on that wall but after looking at it with different eyes today, I’m wondering about doing that treatment on the rest of them. There really isn’t much bare wall space. My dilemma is deciding whether or not to add artwork. I most certainly won’t put anything over the mural(s). And, if I do decide to mural the whole thing, we won’t need to paint over the primer which will be happening soon.
I gotta decide quick!
I do have a paint color picked out and a mural design. The mural is a watercolor landscape with lots of greens, neutrals and blues.
The paint color is a soft, great neutral that goes with everything.

What would you do?

I love our coffee mugs.

Hope you are well!

So much happening right now.

Taking pause from sharing until some things get a little further along.

It’s happening. A LOT is happening.

Till next time, A.

Tell me your story, outdoor fireplace.

Behind it is an old block building that has fallen.

Was it ever an outdoor cook shed or is my imagination just running wild?

Looking forward to the restoration of this beautiful piece and learning stories from all who have been here. History is important. History is what makes us. What grew us, what broke us, what made us stronger, what made us compassionate. And unfortunately, for some, bitter.
I am fascinated by stories. I could sit somewhere just studying a building, house, town or trees and imagine what they once were. Obviously, everything was loved by someone at some point. Enough to be put exactly where they are.

I am looking so forward to creating here. All different ways.
Can’t wait.

The beginning.
Before the bakery was even a thought, I accepted orders (illegally) for catering. This was a dream come true! If you saw the size of my kitchen, you would say, HOW? I’ve always been a, •Make do with whatcha got•, kind of girl, and I did.
Everything was made from scratch. I was and still am proud of myself. It was just the beginning.

I’m not sharing this to say, LOOK AT ME. I’m sharing this for YOU to say, I CAN DO IT. Maybe your thing isn’t the same “thing” but you CAN absolutely do whatever your heart desires if you just say YES.
Years ago I had a business coach ( ) who told her own story of saying yes. I’ve used that sage advice umpteen times throughout my baking career because if you say yes in confidence, YOU CAN FIGURE IT OUT. Especially now with lessons at our fingertips.

Going into inn-keeping has not only been my dream. It’s been my goal. Pretty much my adult life. Moving to Alabama almost 13 years ago was the reason (I was going to get my B&B). The wait has been well worth it. Painful at times but I’ve never been a quitter. I’ve learned a whole lot of lessons in those lucky years.

I can’t wait for you to see what I’m talking about.

Whatever you want to do, GO FOR IT!
If it’s on your heart, it’s there for a reason.

If you need a pep talk, call me. We fear the unknown but, I know, we are really good at freaking ourselves out.

Whatever choice we make, it will be:
1. The greatest lesson
2. The biggest regret of not trying
3. The greatest thing ever!

I’ve lived my entire adult life for this. I’ve worked my entire adult life towards this.

If you only knew how many times I’ve been called selfish…. Look! A BIRD!

Guess what? Bye, bye, bye.
Big decisions made today. Mostly because the appliances I chose. 😬 We’re rebuilding a kitchen around some beautiful pieces of culinary equipment art. Chris said he knew they would be ripping out the remaining cabinets. HA! He knew when I was standing there with my hand on my chin. Repainting the existing cabinets would not look right, in my opinion. Plus, for the flow of what the rest of the house is becoming, it’s only fitting.
She may be small but she will absolutely be mighty.

Sheetrock is getting put up and tile work is getting laid down. There was a mention of picking paint colors. Pshhh, that’s been done already. First floor handled. Now to design the suites.

Giddy beyond belief.

Hugs! A
