🍓 Strawberry update

The berries are beginning to form now —
tiny green strawberries slowly hiding beneath the leaves, preparing for summer sweetness

This season we’re growing two varieties:

Darselect — a French variety known for its rich flavor, deep red color, and fragrant sweetness 🍓

Viking — a beautiful older variety with a story behind its name. Hardy, resilient, and generous in production, it was bred to handle colder northern climates while still producing sweet, flavorful berries 🍓

There’s something magical about watching the small white flowers quietly transform into fruit day by day.

The kids check them every morning to see what changed overnight 💚

🌿 Sensitive Plants (Mimosa pudica) 🌿

One of the most fascinating little plants growing in the studio this season.

Touch their leaves gently,
and they slowly fold inward —
almost as if they’re shy.

Over time, they reopen again with light and calm.

The kids have been completely fascinated by them…
honestly, so have I.

My aunt used to grow these when I was little, and I still remember spending hours gently touching the leaves and watching them fold and then waiting patiently for them to unfold again. It warms my heart seeing my own kids now discovering that same quiet wonder - experiencing firsthand how responsive and intelligent nature can be.

Tiny living reminders that sensitivity can also be a form of intelligence ✨

🍋Limoncella lemon balm
and 🍊mandarin lemon balm —
just beginning to grow 🌱

Still small,
but already carrying that soft citrus scent
when you brush past them

A gentle mix of lemon and orange —
fresh, calming, and quietly bright

These will grow into fragrant, leafy plants
perfect for teas, summer drinks,
or just a moment in the garden 🌿

A small batch, growing slowly this season

🍅 Tomato update —
it’s time to move them into bigger homes 🌱

They’ve been going outside each day
to soak up the gentle sunshine,
and coming back in at night…
just until the last frost passes ❄️

They seem to thrive in this rhythm 🌞

This batch includes a mix of heirloom varieties —
grown for flavor, color, and character:

Apricot Zebra (sweet with a citrusy brightness; beautiful in salads)
Purple Bumble Bee (juicy, colorful, and vibrant; perfect for summer dishes)
Black Strawberry (rich, deep flavor; excellent fresh off the vine)
Black Cherry (intensely flavored; a classic for snacking)
Principe Borghese (traditional Italian; perfect for sauces and sun-drying)

A limited number will be available. Feel free to message me if you’d like to reserve.

🌸 Peonies..

Left on their own, they would stay hidden…
but placed in the soil,
and cared for over time,

they grow into something quietly magnificent!

Pink double peonies (Sarah Bernhardt) in blue pots,
and white double peonies in brown pots —
just beginning their season here 🌱

A limited number will be available this spring.
Feel free to message if you’d like to reserve 🌿

🌍💚 Earth Day,
simply planting something that will grow with time 🌱

Today we moved raspberries into their new homes
(planted in "repurpose" compostable plant-based cups — no plastic 🌿)

A small beginning,
for something that will return each year.

By the time blackberries arrive, the garden feels full 💚

Leaves are deeper green,
the sun sits a little lower,
and everything has grown into itself 🌿

These are Triple Crown blackberries —
thornless, generous, and quietly abundant.

Easy to pick,
even for small hands…
though most still disappear before reaching the bowl.

And this bowl —
one I made in the studio,
now holding a small piece of late summer 🌀

There’s something about this moment:
not the beginning,
not the rush,
but the fullness of the season,
just before it starts to soften..

A liminted number of plants will be available. Message me to reserve 🌱

📍 Pickup: Ann Arbor (early May, flexible timing)

The first raspberries of the season never really make it inside…

Small hands picking,
a few into the bowl,
a few straight into the mouth 🍓

This is Prelude raspberry, one of the earliest to ripen,
always the first sign that summer is beginning…

and then, quietly, it returns once more,
a second harvest, like a soft farewell to the season 🌿

Sweet, soft, and a little wild —
the kind of flavor that doesn’t wait.

And this bowl…
a small whale I made in the studio, holding the first harvest of the season 🐋

Somehow, it all comes together —
hands, soil, time, and a little bit of patience.

A few plants will be available 🌱

📍 Pickup: Ann Arbor (early May, flexible timing)
