🦎 FIND THE LIZARD 🦎

The kids love playing this game over text with Nana and DD. Usually it’s pictures of tree frogs 🐸 hiding in plain sight or the occasional lucky 4-leaf clover 🍀.

Today I finally got to join the fun.

My contribution? A lizard hanging out in the goat feeder like he owns the place. 🤣

Can you spot him? 👀🦎

It may be the Southern in me, or the old lady in me… or maybe it’s the old Southern lady in me. ❤️

But I sure do love a good basket.

This particular basket takes me right back to childhood summers spent picking beans with Grandma and Grandpa Thompson. Long rows, warm sunshine, dirty hands, and memories that somehow seem sweeter with every passing year.

Now seeing Harper carrying it, filled with fresh squash from the garden and eggs from our hens, makes me smile even more. A little piece of the past still hard at work, helping make new memories for the next generation. 🥚

Remember when we moved all the bucks and wethers into Abby’s dog pen to help mow down the jungle of grass? 🌱🐐

Well… apparently nobody told them they were supposed to be working today. 🙄😂

Instead of tackling the buffet of grass around them, they’re all piled under the shelter hiding from the rain like they’re made of sugar. Meanwhile, the grass is still standing tall and laughing at us.

Farm employees of the month they are not. 🤣

The chicken brooder has officially been converted into a guinea brooder! 🐥✨

It comes complete with a cute little house that I thoughtfully added for them… and absolutely none of the guineas have any interest in using it. 😂

Instead, they prefer to huddle in the farthest corner possible and act like I’m the world’s biggest threat every time I walk by. Apparently, all my hard work has gone completely unappreciated. 🤣

Harper and Hundley are completely smitten with the newest additions to the farm! 🐥❤️

These tiny baby guineas have already found themselves plenty of little hands ready to hold, love, and show them off. Watching farm kids grow up surrounded by animals never gets old.

Pretty sure these babies are going to be spoiled from day one! 🥰 Big Thank you to Kalli Mckenzie Chambers for hatching them out for us!

The new chicken coops are officially set up behind the garden! 🐓🌱

We’re excited to give our feathered crew some fresh new digs with plenty of room to scratch, peck, and enjoy life on the farm. Having them right behind the garden is going to make chores a little easier and keep the farm looking even better.

Now all that’s left is for the chickens to move in and make themselves at home! 🥚❤️

Who else gets excited about farm projects finally coming together?

When it feels like it’s been raining for the last 87,493 days and the dog pen has officially turned into a swamp… 🌧️😂

Since we couldn’t get the mower through the mud, we called in the backup crew: the bucks and wethers! 🐐🌿

Needless to say, they were pretty excited about their temporary landscaping job and the change of scenery. Looks like we’ve found the farm’s newest mowing service! 🤣
