Thankfully I finished this deck last week before we got buried in the snow!

It now wraps 3 sides of the house. The owners previously had a patio off the back sliding glass door, but wanted the deck to be back there too. I dug the dirt down and built a retaining wall so the deck hangs between it and the house.
Instead of a railing on the back, they asked for a custom bench. They’re looking forward to spending time back there now 🤘🏻

One reason we love building decks is to help people have a *safe* place to sit and enjoy the forest we live in.

This deck has a missing post, a crooked post, rot on the beams and joists, and a large crack in another joist. Yikes!

We look forward to turning this danger zone into a beautiful and solid extension to their living space!
