Why did the chicken cross the road? No idea, because these chickens are too happy with their new home to go anywhere!

This was a really fun project! My client had a vision for this old damaged chicken coop to be repaired with a truly massive outdoor chicken run added, and I was more than happy to make that vision come to life.

The new enclosure was framed with pressure treated wood and wrapped with half inch hardware cloth buried 12+ inches into the ground to keep them safe from predators, repaired the interior coop walls that were falling down, existing gates reinforced, added a custom built sliding barn door, and a rerouted downspout to solve an inconvenient barn gutter location. As a bonus treat, I even found some tasty worms when I was digging (don't worry I saved some for the chickens).

BeLEAF it or not, a tree fell on this roof. Luckily, there wasn't a ton of damage, just a few holes punched through and shingles that took the brunt of the damage.

Peeling back the layers and taking a closer look, the hole did have a larger crack in the sheathing. I was able to cut out the damaged plywood, replace it, re-felt and re-shingle with matching shingles, and seal everything up water tight. No more leaks and no huge roofer bill for a major roof replacement, another tailored repair and happy client!

Easy breezy beautiful ceiling fans (I think that's how the jingle goes right?)

This older home with no air conditioner could use some help cooling off, so I was able to take down the old fixtures, upgrade the junction boxes to fan rated boxes that can actually support the weight and vibrations of the fan, and install these very smart fans.

Last picture is an attempt to be artistic, and not pictured is my hair flowing in the cool breeze during my testing.

Time to highlight yet another employee of the month! For May we are honoring our Operations Supervisor, which is *checks employee roster*... Chris!

He's out there visiting every site, making sure all is going according to plan and budget, confirming materials and scheduling and efforts of the "crew," addressing the inevitable hiccups along the way, and establishing a trusted relationship with each client. He makes this whole operation run smoother than a Kenny G solo, and we don't know what we'd do without him!

Ever get a "sinking" feeling while washing dishes?

This undermount sink was slowly dropping down, down, down... with a few layers of caulk to hide the problem. Underneath, an unused filtration/softener system and some glued popsicle sticks were holding it in place.

I cut out almost a half inch of caulk, removed and rerouted the plumbing to take out the useless behemoth taking up space under the sink, and replaced it with some sleek undermount braces that properly support the weight of the sink. Resealed with new kitchen and bath silicone including mold inhibitors, and this sink is ready for any dish you can throw at it!

I need a new post!

How about this post of posts... specifically, broken fence posts. 6 of these posts on this old fence had snapped at the base, with only hopes and dreams holding it even remotely upright.

Fencing companies are always happy to sell you a whole new fence, whereas I'm happy to tailor a budget-friendly solution to your needs. I can build a new fence with the best of them, but if that's not what you're looking for, I can help you explore other options. This fence will eventually need to be replaced, but with my new posts and some extra bracing on loosening ones, it will do the job for at least a few more years.

I'm "floored" at the difference this beautiful LVP makes for this little bar area!

My client had some flooring left over from a different area of their home they had done a while back, so why not put it to use? Few flooring companies would consider a project so small, but I'm happy to take it on using the same careful approaches to layout, expansion gaps, and trim.

If these walls could talk, they'd say "OWWW PLEASE HELP US PLEASE OW OW OW!"

Thankfully, that's just what I was prepared to do. These are the rooms just below the leaky bathroom from my last post that needed walls cut out and mold remediation.

Put up new drywall, tape and finish with joint compound, sand, texture, prime, and paint - all in a day's work (or 3).

What did the sleepy floor say to its parents? I'm so TILED!

Here's a classic mold remediation scenario, a second floor bathroom had water entering the walls and caused pretty significant damage, requiring a full gut. Once the remediation is complete, the fun begins!

Demo rest of the tile + floor prep + uncoupling membrane + gorgeous 12x24 tiles + leveling clips + crisp white grout lines, this floor is looking sharp if I do say so myself...
