Its come to my attention. Even sick I dont get a day off from work OR farm work. Excuse me while i start raking out pens to get ready for new mulch.

Oh and the pullets think 1/2 a mouse is a FABULOUS thing to play keep a way woth. 🤷‍♀️

Babies should *all* be "split" to mottled. A couple *may* be satin feathered. Theres defffintely silkie feathering in there. Their colors are all a little different. Some may have some chocolate. Some sort of partridge on the wings. Black, dark blue, at least one with some white. Must go as 3 or more. 8 available.

However taking time to really put an eye to our first grow out from our hatched at home mottleds....SHES CHOCOLATE MOTTLED YALLLLLL.
Uhm so now we have black mottled, chocolate mottled, mauve mottled && blue mottled 🙀 completely unintentional but heyyyy WE ARE DOING THINGSSS.

We have officially (other than what I put in the incubator a few days ago), completely stopped hatching from the layer pen, and my GWH Roosters pen, as well as Seramas, and the bantam pen, and ducks. Leaving just the Oreo mottleds &&& marshys because we'll that gives me some awesome colors and I'm not ready to sign off on that project just yet.

Monday....
Im over here trying to ignore the fact that theres at minimum 5 cockerals in the brooder like we dont have almost exactly the number of boys we need (ok well one bonus boy but hes still young). I SWEAR the chicken gods HATTTTEEE me. Ugh.

1 cappuccino egger

🤦🏻‍♀️🤔 chocolate silkie im keeping. Mottled silkies I *might* grow out and see what they look like but I defff dont need the cappuccino egger or the serama (even if he is frickin adorable).

Some days...
Its the dust bathing of a special needs silkie (that lives with my bantam group) that is enough to make you appreciate the moment. This girl is 2.5yrs old. Has never laid an egg and shes always "frazzled" (shes not frizzle or frazzle but she always looks *rough*) shes a happy healthy girl that was hatched from stock that wasnt ours with some sort of deficiency that no amount of vitamins/wry neck treatment made her normal. However she only shows anything if something spooks her. Its wild but shes happy with her little flock, goes to bed at night up a ramp with her family, and dramatically jumps off that same ramp every morning. She'll live out her life here

Today I will be super busy with the baby shower for my niece.

However I had a chance to sort chicks last night. Partially. I found 8 silkies(poss satin) that can go! But ill post those later.

What i DID find were five AWESOME babies that i can not waitttt to see them grow. (Four of them in this photo
