Sara Alexander Art

Sara Alexander Art Since then, I have received a BFA from the University of North Carolina at Asheville with a concentration in Painting and Drawing.

I have called myself an artist since the day my drawing of a teepee and Native American graced the cover of our Thanksgiving Day class performance program in pre-school. My uncontrollable desire to make things has pushed me to explore many different kinds of materials and projects and has led to my interest in not only painting and drawing but also a wide variety of craft. It doesn't matter what i

t is - as long as I'm creating something, I'm happy. One of the main things that has really influenced my art is light. Whether it be the reflections on a metallic surface, a direct and dramatic spotlight, or the way the sun can affect the mood and atmosphere of a nature scene, I have always been drawn to it when deciding what to paint or draw. I really enjoy the variety of ways it can be observed and how it can transform something you see into something completely different in an instant. I dove into making crafts without any preconceived notions, but a definite nature theme has become apparent in my work. There is something about the controlled chaos of a birds nest or the uneven grain of old barn wood that I find beautiful. I am lucky enough to live in the stunning Blue Ridge Mountains with my amazing and supportive husband, and it is hard not to be influenced by the incredible beauty of the nature that surrounds you every day. Thank you again, so much for coming to look at my work. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you have, I would be happy to be of assistance.
