On September 8th 2020, Dawn and Michael lost their home to the Almeda Fire. Stewart Builders was honored to be the designer and builder of their new home. On September 8th 2021, we passed our final inspections and Dawn and Michael were able to begin moving in. Building projects always have their challenges but this past year was especially difficult with materials often not being available and their costs skyrocketing. Plus building a home after a tragic fire is always an emotional journey. Add a serious global pandemic on top of that and wow, what a year! Huge thank you to Michael and Dawn for being great clients and to my team for the deep care they took in building this home.

Custom Bath Remodel. Ashland, Oregon. Floor was cut out and floor framing was lowered to allow the shower floor to be at the same height as the bathroom floor. The minimalist vanity space, elimination of the drop ceiling, and glass shower enclosure all make the room feel much bigger and brighter. Custom concrete shower wall panels were made by D.C. Custom Construction in Quincy, WA and shipped to Ashland for installation by the Stewart Builders team.

From conception to completion, the goal was to build a beautiful, highly energy efficient house that would be the home of 3 generations of family. Through detailed design including solar modeling, building efficiency modeling and working closely with the homeowner, the Energy Trust of Oregon, and subcontractors, we were able to build a phenomenally efficient (nearly passive), comfortable and beautiful home on 35 acres near Ashland.
