So on top of face painting and teaching, I often foster for the Athens County Humane Society. If you have the space in your home and heart to foster, I highly recommend it. It makes it so much easier for us to get to know the cats in our care and gives the cats and kittens a much less stressful environment to be in.

On Sunday I’ll be painting for the annual Garden Tour. 25% of my proceeds will go directly to the humane society and the remainder will be used to support my own fostering endeavors.

Three growing kittens eat a lot of food and need a lot of toys and things to keep them occupied. So meet the babies!

These are The Boxcar Children. They were found in a train car in Nelsonville. At the time they had panluke, an often deadly virus for cats. However, with diligent care from Athens Vet Clinic, 3 of the 4 survived. Now they’re panluke free, and happy and healthy. Well, two are a bit wobbly but they don’t let that stop them! So meet Bennie, Violet, and Jessie! They’ll be ready for adoption next month.

P.S. don’t worry, they don’t have access to my paints.

My next event. I’ll have some simple floral designs and animal themed designs for anyone who wants to travel the gardens with a bit of whimsy of their own. 25% of the proceeds will go straight to the humane society and the remainder will go straight toward supporting my own foster kittens (who are also a part of the humane society). They are determined to eat me out of house and home.

🎉THIS SUNDAY!!! Are you ready for our Annual Garden Tour? We have some fantastic gardens lined up around the county for your viewing pleasure. This is a great time for plant🌻and 🐶animal lovers to enjoy the beauty and creativity in our community while we raise money for animals in need. 💙 Learn more about the tour and the associated raffles, and get your tickets 🎫 here: https://www.athenshumane.org/event-details/32nd-annual-garden-tour

I’ll also be here! I’ll have some special animal and plant themed designs for this event! Come support the Art Guild and Athens County Humane. Your participation helps support all the work the humane society does and helps support my three foster kittens!

We're teaming up with the Athens County Humane Society on Sunday, June 28, for their 32nd Annual Garden Tour!

Come see the beautiful gardens at 667 E. State St (the building in front of the Athens Community Center, which is now Athens Art Guild Headquarters) and purchase your tickets, buy some local art and help raise funds for animals in need. 11am - 4pm.

This will be my next event! I’ll post design options tomorrow! 25% of my proceeds will go toward the pavilion!

Next Sunday, June 21, we will be participating in the Athens Farmers Market Midsummer Community Celebration. This is a concert and fundraiser for the pavilion project. Several artists will be selling their work and donating a percentage of sales to the project.

Bring your own lawn chair and meet us behind Athens Community Center 2-9pm.

This is a long post but it’s worth it!

On Saturday I painted Boogie On The Bricks and two days later I am still filled with an immense amount of gratitude for the support Athens has shown me.
I was nervous about painting at such a large event but the community made it possible and absolutely feasible for me to do on my own. I was supposed to paint from 12-5 but due to so much support, I stayed until 9!

I have to give a few shoutouts to some very special groups in no particular order-

1. To the parents who helped ensure their kids followed the rules so everyone could get painted… thank you so much! You made sure I was able to paint as efficiently as possible.

2. To the event organizers who put me in the shade, which made painting for so long possible.

3. To the mom who paid by getting me water and boba- you are a life saver.

4. To OBB for the delicious berry drink- that helped keep me going!

5. To the local businesses who let me use their restrooms so I didn’t have to use the latrines and got a moment of respite in the AC- a giant thank you! (I won’t name them since technically they don’t have public restrooms but they were nice to me).

6. To Rhythm & Food for the delicious Chicken Bacon Ranch grilled cheese at the end of the day… can I just say OMG amazing. It was exactly what I needed after a long day.

7. To Dr. May’s Thai Kitchen for the amazing lunch.

8. To the 3 folks who helped me tear down at the end of the day- you three are absolutely wonderful and saved me so much time and energy and just really capped off a night of so much community support. Also I mean it, if you see me again, I will absolutely paint you for free!

And finally… to the community, both adults and children, who showed up and supported me and my art. Your excitement and smiles is what makes face painting worth it. Your generosity astounds me and your kindness reinforces my love for Athens.

Thank you again to everyone and I hope to see you all around Athens this summer! I’ll be posting more about my next few events soon!

(As always I didn’t take a ton of pictures but I tried to take some of designs I haven’t taken pictures of yet).

Painting now Boogie On The Bricks. Find me in the Kid Zone across from Hangover Easy. All designs are only $8! Oh! And it’s really shady over here!

☀️ 🎶 ☀️ Boogie on the Bricks is today and we are looking forward to it. You might want to take your dog with you everywhere but not every space is good for every dog. It’s loud and it’s going to be hot and busy today. Many dogs are uncomfortable in these spaces and would be much better off at home on the sofa. 🛋️ Have fun today but probably leave your dog at home. ❤️‍🩹

Practicing the whimsy! The only issue… I’m now painted but unsure what to do with myself.
