HVAC Replacement Mistake #1: Lack of Knowledge
The truth is that you are not going to replace the HVAC system in your home very often. The average American lives in their home for around 10 years. Your HVAC system will usually get replaced every 12-18 years. So you may replace it one time during your stay there. You may move into a home that already has an older system. Either way, it’s just not something you do very often.
It’s funny how you might spend a few hours researching which coffee maker to buy but not spend much time researching your HVAC system. That’s because it can be so confusing. There are so many moving parts and so many different options and so many different companies that it’s easy to throw up your hands and just make a decision based on emotion. Maybe you end up spending more than you intended and you worry if you overpaid. Or maybe you just “go with the cheapest” and end up buying trouble for the next 10 years of your life.
The other challenge is figuring out who you can trust. If someone tells you something are they saying it because it’s true or because they are trying to sell you something? Whether it’s an in-home appointment or a website you visit, it is very difficult to receive unbiased knowledge. That’s actually the whole reason we formed this company--to provide the information you need to make an informed decision about your HVAC replacement.
